A lovely result for little Elvis, with these points completing his requirements for his Junior Warrant (JW). Elvis also went on to take 3rd place in the Eukanuba Puppy Stakes under Mrs Marion Waddell — another lovely result in a strong class.

FIELD TRAINING DAY
NORTH YORKSHIRE
The Irish Red & White Setter Club of GB is pleased to be hosting a Field Training Day on game in North Yorkshire. The day is aimed at all levels of handler experience and dog ability, with a focus on the minimum standard for working Pointers & Setters towards the SGWC and Field Trials. Places are strictly limited, so if you would like to attend, please register via the booking link on the Club’s Facebook page by Friday 25 September.
BELFAST CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
And now on to Belfast next week! I always enjoy the Belfast weekend. It starts on the ferry, where it’s lovely to catch up with all the “dog people” making the journey across. The show itself is always such a friendly occasion, and we have a great entry of Irish Red & White Setters, which is fantastic to see in our native land. Good luck to everyone travelling — I hope you all have a brilliant weekend and, most importantly, enjoy yourselves!

I haven't been able to find any Open Show results for Irish Red and White Setters this week. If you have results you'd like included in future Breed Notes, please sent them to me.
I have been asked about critiques over the last few weeks. The RKC has had its own critique writing site up and running for a many years now You need to open an account separate from your RKC account and you can post your critiques on there .
We were saddened to hear of the recent passing of Andy Robins (Destanli).
Andy, together with his wife Lynn, was a familiar and much-loved sight around the Irish Red & White Setter ring for many years. Andy served as a Committee member of the Club and was always willing to volunteer and help at our shows. He had a wonderfully dry and lively sense of humour and was always good company.
Andy and Lynn bred, I believe, just one litter in 2005, but Andy had a keen interest in working his dogs and was passionate about getting out and doing things with them. In later years,
Andy moved away from Irish Red & White Setters and became involved with Large Munsterlanders, a breed in which he went on to award CCs on multiple occasions. Andy will be remembered fondly by many within our breed, not only for his involvement with the Club and our shows, but also for his friendship and willingness to help.
Our thoughts are with Lynn, family and friends at this sad time.
Following the closure of Our Dogs, Breed Notes have found a new home here on the Club website, where we’ll continue to share news, results and updates from across the breed.
